❖   FAQ

Where are you donating this month?

Every month, or sometimes for more than one month, I choose an organization in which I donate some of my sales to. I do this because I feel it is my duty to give back what I can to my fellow Americans and community members -- especially the disenfranchised and underserved.

June's donation will go The Conscious Kid. "[They] are an education, research, and policy organization dedicated to equity and promoting healthy racial identity development in youth. [They] support organizations, families, and educators in taking action to disrupt racism in young children." You can find out more about their organization HERE .

Do you do custom artwork projects?

Yes! Though depending on the time of year and how many projects I have on my plate, I may or may not be able to get to your request for some time. I only will take on requests that match my artwork style and ability, so be sure you like what I create before requesting a project. Feel free to contact me with any inquiries you have by clicking HERE .

Are you currently taking custom artwork requests?

No, currently my custom artwork requests are closed for the time being. Check back soon for updates!

Why is there only one option for shipping?

To streamline my process! Because of the strain that the USPS is currently experiencing with the complications of Covid-19 I chose the Priority shipping option until the USPS is in a more secure situation. Some USPS facilities in the country are still backlogged with First Class Mail, so Priority Mail is more reliable choice for now. While First Class is also usually reliable and is an affordable option, Priority allows you to track your package and have insurance, so this will make it easier for us to keep tabs on your orders. It also sends USPS some more love (funding!) so that they can try to keep this essential service available for all of us. Shipping with any other service would be 2x as expensive -- for you the customer and me the maker! The price of shipping for original framed paintings is included in the price of the artwork.

What the heck is a giclée print?

Giclée prints are fine art digital prints made with inkjet printers. These aren't any ordinary inkjet printers though! This kind of printer uses special pigment-based ink which has more color particles in the colored liquid that sprays on to the paper. The colors sit on top of the paper, instead of soaking into the paper, which makes the colors more vibrant and strong. Giclée printers also have more than twice as many ink color cartridges than a regular printer. All of this adds up to a print that is fade-resistant, has a wider variety of color gradients, and has extreme color accuracy to the original source material. When you purchase a giclée print know that you're investing in artwork that will be around for a lifetime.

So you make this stuff?

All things that you see in the shop are handmade by me in my small home studio, aside from outsourcing the pin buttons with my original designs on them. All of the imagery in my prints and paintings are original ideas that I concocted. I hand print and press all of the linocut prints and all of the reproduction prints are printed using only the best archival inks and papers. When you purchase from me you know that you are getting a unique handmade item made with love and care.

Why so many birds?

I grew up being in tune to nature, and so birds were something I paid attention to since they are everywhere. I enjoy the idea that a bird I see in the springtime was just recently seen by someone in another country because of migration patterns. In an ever-changing world, birds remind me that we aren't alone and that there are beings who are oblivious to the goings-on of politics and war. Life goes on and so do the birds. Also, they're living dinosaurs, what's not to like?
